Extremity Joint Manipulation is a treatment technique used to help reduce joint compression by reducing the tension in the muscles surrounding the joint. Joints have an integral relationship with muscles. If the joint or the muscle group(s) are not treated, one will often revert the other into a painful state after treatment. Therefore, when joint manipulation is coupled with treatment to the muscle(s), there is a greater pain reduction in intensity and duration compared to when one is treated in isolation.
